Why is there a charge to visit the Cathedral?
Saint Patrick's does not recieve any regular funding from the state and therefore in order to pay for the enormous cost of conservation and repair it is necessary to charge a small fee to visitors upon entrance. The Cathedral is an active place of worship and visitors who wish to attend one of our daily services are not required to pay the admission fee.
