We are always delighted to welcome visiting choirs to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and both cathedral and city have much to offer those who maintain and enhance our daily worship in this way.
The cathedral welcomes applications from visiting choirs for Low Sunday (the first Sunday after Easter), the Sunday Bank holiday weekends in May, June and October as well as throughout July and August during the Cathedral Choir’s vacation.
Weekday Evensong is at 17.30. Normally there are no sung services on Saturdays, nor on Wednesdays during July and August. It is usually possible to accommodate a visiting choir for an isolated weekday during the academic term, or for a group of weekdays during July or August. Equally choirs are most welcome to take up residence for a week, culminating in the Sunday services.
Accommodation is easily found in Dublin, and there are a wide range of hotels, hostels and other establishments within easy reach of the cathedral to suit every budget.
Those who are interested in bringing their choir to St. Patrick’s are invited to make contact with the Organist and Master of Choristers as early as possible. It is useful if a specific set of dates can be given at the outset.
