To coincide with the centenary of the end of World War One, a new temporary installation entitled Fallen, has been suspended from the ceiling of the Cathedral. This installation features 36,000 messages (in the shape of leaves) which have been left at our Tree of Remembrance over the past four years. Each leaf symbolises one Irish fatality during World War One.
This installation will be in place in the Cathedral throughout the month of November and normal opening hours and admission apply.
A launch event will take place on the evening of November 1 at 19.30. This event is free of charge but registration is required. Details here.
This event is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
