Heritage Week Concerts: The Wondrous Machine

  • Heritage Week
  • Sat 16 Aug
  • 18.30-19.30
  • Admission Free
  • Registration required

Join us this Heritage Week for a series of early evening recitals given by members of the Cathedral’s Music Department.

We begin with the King of Instruments, or as Purcell referred to it, the Wondrous Machine.

With 4,000 pipes, 4 manuals & 80 speaking stops, the Willis Organ is one of the largest instruments in Ireland even though most people walking around the building wouldn’t be aware of it’s existence. Once it begins to play though, there’s no escaping as the instrument was designed to fill every corner of this magnificent building.

Join us then for this recital given by Cathedral Organist David Leigh, you can even enjoy watching his hands and feet go about their business courtesy of a big screen in the crossing.

Admission is free, but as seating is limited, pre-booking is strongly advised.

Booking available from July 4, come back soon.
