The University Chorale is a select choral ensemble that performs a variety of choral literature from Renaissance to contemporary genres including gospel and spirituals. The Chorale focuses on the expression of beauty in choral artistry, combining musicianship and servant hearts for the glory of God and the consequent joy of both singer and audience. Dr. Kent Walters is the Director of Music Programs and Professor of Music at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan USA where he has taught music for 16 years. Along with directing the University Chorale and the a cappella ensemble Credo, he also teaches Advanced Conducting, Ear Training, and the Senior Capstone course. He earned the Doctor of Worship Studies degree from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University. He received his B.A. in Secondary Music Education from Calvin University, and a Diploma in Music Ministry from the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. Dr. Walters also serves as a member of the faculty and Director of Alumni Activities for the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida. He edits and publishes Anamnesis: The IWS Newsletter and the Transforming Worship Quote of the Week and plans bi-annual post-graduate seminars in worship taught by leading scholars from around the world.
