Lunchtime Recital: West University Baptist Church Choir

The West U Baptist Church Choir from Houston, Texas will present a midday concert of sacred
choral music. The Choir assists with worship leadership each Sunday and has presented portions
of Handel’s MESSIAH each December since 1962. This is the choir’s first international choir tour.
Composers represented in their tour repertoire include Randall Thompson, René Clausen, Elaine
Hagenberg, F. Melius Christiansen, Mack Wilberg, Dan Forrest, Mary McDonald, Benjamin David
Knoedler, Egil Hovland, Stephen Caracciolo, Bob Burroughs, Ken Medema, Moses Hogan, and
John Rutter. Paul Magyar, D.M.A., has been the choir’s director since 2020.
