The life of Jonathan Swift is told through music, an interview and drama. Presented by Gerry Mullins, the unique show features music from the Choir of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and an interview with Swift expert Dr Brendan Twomey, before there is a rude interruption from Jonathan Swift who reappears in his Cathedral after almost 300 years.

Savage Indignation premiered during the Jonathan Swift Festival last year and proved instantly popular among Swift enthusiasts and novices alike. The musical part of the show was written by Gerry Mullins based on letters and poetry by Jonathan Swift and his lady friends Stella and Vanessa. Savage Indignation describes what happens in Swift’s life when Stella and Vanessa find out about each other.

Debbie Barry plays Vanessa; Aisling Coleman plays Stella; and Dave McGloughlin plays Jonathan Swift. They will be accompanied by pianist Catriona Grimes.
