Discover the remarkable story of Dublin’s Huguenot community and the lasting legacy they left on the city.
Join renowned historian Cathy Scuffil, Historian in Residence for Dublin South Central, as she explores how the Huguenots transformed life in Dublin following their arrival in the late seventeenth century. From weaving and craftsmanship to banking, architecture, politics and place names, their influence can still be seen throughout The Liberties and across the city today.
Drawing on years of research and community engagement, Cathy will reveal the fascinating stories behind familiar streets, buildings and family names, while highlighting the enduring impact of Huguenot culture on Dublin’s heritage.
The evening will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity for questions and discussion.
