Gulliver’s Travels: 300th Anniversary Art Competition

Your artwork could light up Saint Patrick’s Cathedral!

To celebrate 300 years of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is inviting children and young people from schools across Ireland to take part in a very special art competition.

We’re looking for colourful, imaginative and creative designs, with the winning artworks to be projected onto the iconic tower of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral from 28 October 2026, exactly 300 years after the publication of Gulliver’s Travels.

Imagine seeing your own artwork lighting up one of Dublin’s most famous landmarks!

Scan your finished artwork, making sure the entire design is clearly visible.

Submit your entry HERE using our online submission form.

A Chance to Light Up Dublin!

The chosen designs will be transformed into a spectacular projection on the north-facing tower of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, where Jonathan Swift himself once served as Dean.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have your creativity displayed on one of Ireland’s most historic buildings as part of a landmark literary anniversary.

Competition Closing Date: 6.00pm, Friday 23 October 2026
