We are delighted to announce the recipients of the most recent round of distribution of the
community and charitable fund.
At a time when the world is very bleak in terms of news of war,
struggle, and brokenness, reading through and investigating each of the applications was a very
heartening process.
Each organisation demonstrates compassion, care for others,
connectivity, Christian faith in action.
The total fund to be distributed amounts to €145,292.59. The applications for support exceeded
€600,000 which made our decision process excruciatingly difficult. Within our application form
we requested other ways of engagement that we could support applicants with their good
works. In the coming months and year, we will be engaging with the organisations who have not
been successful in accessing funds in this round, to explore the opportunities that they have
identified and put some plans in place to extend other forms of support.
The list of recipients of this round of funding is attached and also includes funds that have been
contributed to emergency causes such as the rebuilding of the Al Ahli hospital in Jerusalem
which sadly has since been bombed again. Humanitarian relief in these challenging times is
essential for the preservation of life and giving hope in desperate times.
It is very important to acknowledge that each of the donors who contributed to this fund do so in
an act of faith when they either attend a service and contribute to the offertory collection or light
a candle and make a donation. Each contribution is representative of so many individuals
collectively having an impact on the lives of others through their prayers and donations. The
funds being allocated in this round are the balance of funds from 2022, and 2023, as well as all
funds collected in 2024.
With every blessing,
The Very Revd Dr William Morton
Dean and Ordinary, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin
