Album Launch Concert with Stuart Nicholson

February 4, 2026  Posted in: News

After 16 years at the console, Stuart Nicholson, Master of the Music at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, is finally releasing his debut solo organ album, Fireworks and Fanfares, a dazzling collection of American classics from the silver screen, Broadway, and the concert hall.

To celebrate, join us in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for a lively 20 minute launch concert featuring highlights from the recording, including music by Aaron CoplandSamuel BarberLeonard BernsteinGeorge Gershwin, and John Williams.

The Organ: Hidden high above the north side of the chancel sits one of Ireland’s largest cathedral organs. With four manuals, 81 speaking stops, and around 4,000 pipes, this magnificent Father Willis instrument was gifted by the Guinness family in 1902 during the cathedral restoration.

Most of the 600,000 visitors who pass through the cathedral each year never realise it is there. But when it is unleashed, it fills every corner of the building with breathtaking sound. For more than 125 years, organists here have claimed there is no music it cannot play. This album happily puts that theory to the test.

Reserve your free ticket now with the option to prebook the CD album for a special launch price of €12 (normally €15).
