Artistic Director David Leigh puts his “home” instrument – the 1902 Willis in St Patrick’s Cathedral – through its paces in a short programme marking two significant anniversaries in the organ world – those of Max Reger and Joseph Jongen, both born in 1873. Jongen’s Sonata Eroïca is his most substantial and best known work for organ solo, and Reger’s Op 135b is his last major organ work.
