Heritage Week 2020

August 4, 2020  Posted in: News

Heritage Week 2020 will be a bit different! As always we have a wonderful series of events but this year  many of our programmes have moved online. Please note that any events that take place in the Cathedral will adhere to regulations designed to ensure your safety. We will ask those who wish to attend to pre-book and also to wear a face mask. These events have restricted capacities so please let us know if you cant attend so that we can release the ticket to someone else.

Restoring the Roof video (20 August) (online and in Cathedral)

For Heritage Week 2020 we have commissioned a new video which explores our
roof works project. This new content includes drone footage and interviews with the craftspeople involved and will give an incredible insight into this massive project. Four short videos will be released throughout Heritage Week across the Cathedral’s social media channels and a screening will be held in the Cathedral on Thursday 20 August at 16.30. This screening will provide a platform to share the learnings from this enormous project and help inform the restoration of built heritage in the future.

Music for Lunch (17-21 August) (online only)

Our music for lunch recitals have been a very popular fixture in Heritage Week over the last few years. Sadly this year we can’t invite you to join us here but we can at least bring the music to you to enjoy from the safety and comfort of your own homes. A teaser trailer will be posted on our Facebook pages each morning – if you haven’t already “liked” us then there’s no better time than the present. The rest of the recital will then be available from our website from 13.00 here.
